We are recruiting Senior Science Project Managers to join the Medical Research Council’s Cross-council partnership and Infrastructure team. These roles are a core component of MRC’s mission to improve human health by managing a portfolio of research projects across many areas of MRC remit. Reporting to the Associate Director this role will suit experienced project managers interested in science, or scientifically trained staff interested in expanding their project management skills.
The roles support projects in different science areas which can range from multi-million national infrastructures such as UK Biobank and the new Adolescent Health study to smaller focused internal projects. You will get a chance to work extensively across MRC and UKRI, with central government and other research funders, and across the UK research and innovation community.
You will be one of the key MRC knowledge-holders of the project management process in UKRI and within UK Government (i.e. "Green Book" processes). You will get an opportunity to manage a number of high profile projects, inputting into new proposals and working with a range of supporting professional teams such as commercial procurement, economists, finance, and strategy. You will also be involved in relevant peer review of science applications, gathering strategic advice from a range of stakeholders and providing advice to internal and external audiences.
