Permanent contract | 37 hours per week | £22,369 to £24,054 per annum (Grade E) | Norwich

NORFOLK YOUTH JUSTICE SERVICE

Reparation is the term used for the structured activities a young person may do as part of their Court Order. The structured activities will be of direct benefit to the victim and/or the local community. You will be expected to work with the child and Restorative Justice Worker to find suitable and appropriate reparation and unpaid work projects in order to repair harm to victims and communities. This post involves supervising children during the course of their reparation activity. It will involve some evening and weekend working and many of the projects involve outdoor, physical activities. You will be expected to work in a flexible manner and will be expected to travel in the role, potentially countywide.

The Youth Justice Service is looking for a people with a commitment to making Norfolk a safer place to live, enable children who commit crime to change their behaviour and support the needs of victims of crime.

You will need to be skilled and experienced in motivating and working with challenging children, be aware of health and safety assessments in the working environment and able to identify and seek new projects for reparation within the local community. Good communication skills are essential, and you will need a good standard of education and IT skills, as the work also requires recording onto an electronic case management system.

This position is based at County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich NR1 2DH.
