Band 7, Unit Manager - Royal/BGH Hospital sites
An opportunity has arisen within the Liverpool University Foundation Hospital Trust for a Band 7 Theatre Unit Manager.
Key responsibilities of the role will be to manage a theatre Team to lead and support the team in embedding new pathways and processes in our new purpose built theatre department.
This will consist of all aspects of management on a day-to-day basis including planning, allocation and evaluation of the new work streams carried out by teams.
Provide specialist knowledge to all staff on the Department.
To promote a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of patient care
ensuring that the theatre environment is responsive to current issues.
Ensure that all existing procedures and protocols relating to the care of
patients are reviewed and updated as required with the new hospital move.
Develop methods for identifying, maintaining and improving the quality of patient care through facilitation of best practice and clinical benchmarking.
Exercise strong and effective leadership, acting as an exemplary role model for the department team.
Maintain adequate staff cover and skill mix on the department through effective use of staffing rotas.
Ensure staff compliance with mandatory training and maintain current
records.
Ensure effective communication with patients .
Monitor and manage staff sickness/absence following the Trust guidelines,
and liaise with the Matron as necessary.
Act at all times in a manner that upholds the reputation of the Trust and
safeguards the wellbeing and dignity of patients and their relatives.
Act always in accordance with the NMC/HCPC Code of Conduct and Guidance documents and maintain active status on NMC and HCPC Register.
Liverpool University Foundation Trust Hospital was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.
The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
