Location: Aztec West, Bristol (Hybrid) with some expectation of travel to HPC Site


Join EDF as an Information Architect and you’ll join one of our most exciting and ambitious projects, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK. At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building the first nuclear power station to be constructed in the UK for over two decades, which at the operating stage will employ several hundred people and make a major contribution to the UK’s move to reduce carbon emissions.


As an Information Architect, you’ll be part of a cross-disciplinary Information Management Team within Digital, working closely with information analysts, project managers, data scientists, data engineers and business insight specialists. You’ll perform a key role in transitioning the Nuclear Industry to ‘data-centric’ ways of working. You will be responsible for delivering High-Level Architectures and ensuring the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project information is identified, modelled & articulated to the relevant programme or project. You’ll ensure that information quality controls are managed in processes & systems to ensure the availability, accessibility, consistency and quality of HPC’s Information.

What you’ll be doing…


As the Information Architect, your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following;


  • Develop High Level Architectures in conjunction with the Lead Information Analyst
  • Identify, describe & mature the Information Quality & Modelling Standards within HPC to improve the availability, accessibility, consistency and quality of HPC’s information
  • Support the management of model information objects, attributes & relationships within the HPC Information Architecture & Dictionary
  • Peer-review project documentation, including data models and information flows & specifications for functional & quality (structural, and semantic) readiness
  • Contribute to the development of the HPC Enterprise Information Model
  • Recommend information, process and system changes to align the Enterprise Information Model to the business processes and core systems, through collaboration with the Business and Digital Architecture Teams
  • Monitor the Information Management Centres of Excellence delivery of the To-be Architecture & ensure alignment to the HPC Enterprise Information Model and delivery to quality standards


Who you are…


  • Workshop facilitation and communication skills, including planning, presentation and mediation
  • Highlight opportunities, spot assumptions and dependencies, manage risks and issues
  • Experience of information architecture in a capital construction project or related industry
  • Experience of data and information requirements capture, modelling and analysis in major capital projects with complex interfaces between business functions, processes & systems
  • Information architecture & modelling languages skills such as UML, BPMN, Entity Relationship Modelling, Archimate and Orbus iServer
  • Understanding of systems & process architecture or architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or IAF
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in one or more of the Information Management disciplines of Information Architecture, Information Analysis, Master Data Management, Data Administration or Database System development
  • Degree level or equivalent in a related subject or business relevant subject
  • Track record of project or programme delivery

Working Arrangements

The typical working arrangement is 3 days per week in the office with flexible working from home for the remaining 2 days. To deliver Hinkley Point C, the role may at times require up to 5 days per week in the office or at HPC Site to attend workshops to deliver critical business milestones.
