Job Description


As a Risk Manager, you have a passion to provide risk management services as required by our clients, that may include:

  • Leading one or more Risk teams across medium complexity and medium risk project and programmes.
  • Facilitating risk workshops to identify and manage specific project / programme related threats, opportunities & issues.
  • Oversee the risk tool project and / or programme activities to ensure quality and accuracy of data.
  • Review and approve detailed project and programme risk reports produced by the risk team to provide quality oversight.
  • Leading the identification and recording of appropriate management responses which are measurable and specific, along with assessing the post mitigated positions.
  • Proactively manage the completion of management responses to help deliver target positions.
  • Working with contractors to assess contractor held risks and their views on client held risks that impact upon them.
  • Producing detailed risk reports as required, in a timely manner, to assist with the effective communication of threat & opportunity status.
  • Conducting quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.
  • Developing or improving risk processes or templates to deliver an improved service.

Qualifications


You have professional Project Controls experience in one or more sectors across the whole Project lifecycle, with strong experience in Risk Management and the associated software / tools. You will be able to demonstrate qualitative and quantitative assessment of risk, a working knowledge of an integrated risk management process (risk, cost, schedule) on a large programme, and be able to facilitate risk workshops.

You are a strong communicator and leader with ability to influence, manage, motivate, coach and develop a team by creating a diverse and inclusive environment. You promote empowerment and contribution and have a passion to build a community and support network beyond your delivery role.

You also:

  • Have a degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent qualifications and experience of at least 3 years in a risk delivery role.
  • Are a member of a relevant professional body e.g. Association for Project Management, Institute of Risk Managers or Project Management Institute.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have strong leadership with the ability to mobilise, inspire and lead by example.
  • Have strong stakeholder management experience.
  • Have a desire to work within various sectors and with a range of clients.
  • Can navigate through conflict situations and defuse tension.
