Job overview
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our existing team of staff within the wheelchair and limb (amputee) service at NUH as a part time administrator on a permanent basis.
The post holder will be responsible for a variety of duties including answering telephone queries from patients and users of the service, as well as booking out equipment, liaison with the wheelchair contractor, and referrers and will work with clinical staff on a daily basis. The successful candidate may also be required to book appointments for patients ensuring that this is done in a timely and professional manner following standard operating procedures. Experience in the NHS would be an advantage, although is not essential.
As a team member, your commitment will be to provide a quality service, which can be demonstrated through excellent communication and organisational skills and a conscientious approach in all aspects of the job role.

Main duties of the job
To provide administrative and clerical support for the wheelchair and amputee service, including reception and clerical support as appropriate, ensuring that service requirements are met at all times,
Duties may include:
Deal with enquiries from the public and liaison with appropriate departments as necessary
Process appointments of those attending wheelchair and amputee services
Process the range of clerical and administrative tasks associated with attendance at wheelchair or amputee clinics - both before and after the appointment
Maintain and update patient records on the database used within that clinical area
Update information on notice boards
Liaison with wheelchair contractor regarding orders, deliveries and collections

The wheelchair and amputee service sits in the Therapies and Rehabilitation Services Pathway in the Clinical Support Division at NUH.
We are a diverse pathway of AHPs and support staff, employing over 600 staff who work together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to.
Our HCPC registered AHP professionals comprise of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists and speech and language therapists, and our other staff encompass professionals such as nurses, psychologists, administrative and clerical and support workers.
We have a Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction, and many of the pathway leadership team have pathway AHP backgrounds to support our staff. There are also Practice Development Therapists to support career development for all.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
