Job Description


This position is based primarily in Southampton & New Forest, and will require travel throughout Hampshire.

This post presents an exciting opportunity to become a Wellbeing Practitioner at our Personal Wellbeing service, covering the Hampshire & IOW area. Commissioned by HMPPS, these services are focused on supporting adult male ex-offenders across the following pathways:

  • Family and Significant Others
  • Lifestyle and Associates
  • Emotional Wellbeing Services
  • Social Inclusion

About the Role

This role will support service users, increasing their knowledge of how to access appropriate support, and:

  • Developing strategies to manage emotions.
  • Designing and delivering skills training, to foster self-confidence.
  • Increasing their capacity to undertake activities, to support daily living.
  • Advocating for service users to engage with treatment and other professionals/services (MH teams/support groups), in conjunction with multi-agency partners.
  • Supporting our team in achieving our Justice Business Plan objectives: innovate, revitalise, and reform, the delivery of Justice Services.
  • Working in close partnership with delivery partners, HMPPS, the Voluntary Sector, and other Criminal Justice organisations, to promote and deliver our services, and achieve the required outputs and outcomes.

Qualifications


Essential

  • Driving License, and access to a vehicle.
  • Good basic education, including Maths and English GCSE, or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continual professional development.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office - Word and Excel.

Desirable

  • Any qualification relevant to rehabilitation of offenders, for example criminology/ criminal justice/ social care/ mental health/ IAG/ family services/ emotional wellbeing/ social inclusion.

Salary:
£24,001 per annum
Hours: 38 hours per week
Contract: Full Time - Fixed Term until March 31st 2024
