We have a unique opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Living Well service as an Aspiring Team Manager to oversee an exciting new reviews project.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract

We will be launching a new project-based reviews team of Social Care Practitioners and Social Workers in Spring 2023. The team will specifically support people aged 18+, who require Adult Social Care intervention under Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.

The project will focus on outstanding reviews in the Ongoing Support Teams (OST), Living Well Service. You will manage up to six Social Care Practitioners and one Social Worker.

About the role

As an Aspiring Team Manager, you will manage a team of Social Workers and Social Care Practitioners, working across Wiltshire to complete direct payments and scheduled/annual reviews across the three Ongoing Support Teams within the Living Well Service.

The team will also complete this role for people who are funded by Wiltshire, but reside at an out of county placement, and will provide awareness and referrals to internal and external agencies. We will take the lead in commissioning and providing a variety of professional services, from rehabilitation to support in people’s own homes and in their local community.

The team will work flexibly across all three main hub locations in Chippenham, Trowbridge, and Salisbury, from home and traveling to customers throughout Wiltshire and beyond the county boundaries.

About You

Do you want to take a leap in your career journey from front line to management with some supervisory experience under your belt, or perhaps you are already in a supervisory role but want to try something new?

Adult Social Care experience is essential , and you should hold a Social Work/Occupational Therapy degree/diploma or equivalent qualification and a full UK driving licence.

As part of the secondment, you will be guided and supported closely by OST Professional Leads, Team Managers and Head of Service, so there is no expectation for you to have previous managerial or supervisory experience.

We just expect to see dedication to learning and supporting others, as well as a keenness to drive forward positive change for the service.

Your substantive manager must agree to you transferring to the secondment role. This agreement must be sought in principle before applying for the seconded role. If the secondment will impact significantly on service delivery, your substantive manager may not agree to the secondment.

This post receives a 12.5% market supplement payment which is reviewed annually.
