Job Description


Your Team:

ASMD/CF is the team and product in Avaloq that provides state-of-the-art compilers and IDE support (editors and associated tooling) for Avaloq Banking System's DSLs (domain specific languages).

We work in an agile way which supports us with the every changing and evolving world that we operate in meaning this role is interesting, and varied.

The team is split over 3 locations, Edinburgh, Zurich and Manila. This opportunity is based in Edinburgh.

The team in Edinburgh work on Domain Specific Language (DSL) editors and compilers and the development tools that support them, for example:

  • Static code analysis
  • Automatic refactoring tools
  • Code highlighting
  • Automatic code completion

Your responsibilities:

  • work closely with the Product Owner, Architect and development team
  • interact closely with our main stakeholders
  • support the team by:
    • Troubleshooting customer issues and internal requests
    • Managing client interaction
    • Providing help to resolve issues and answer questions
    • Being the connection between our documentation department and the development team
    • Conducting workshops and academy courses for internal and external developers
    • Helping the development team during quality assurance

Qualifications


What we are looking for

  • Excellent logical, analytical and problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn and understand the business needs
  • Knowledge of involved applications to be able to do impact analysis, troubleshooting and/or involve/co-ordinate with other teams
  • You will be a pro-active team player: willing to contribute and help other team members in order to successfully achieve team goals

You will get extra points for the following:

  • Programming skills (knowledge in PL/SQL, Java is considered a plus)
  • Knowledge of the Eclipse IDE is a plus
  • Ideally a University Degree with experience of work in a software development environment
