Overview

At Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) we provide integrated energy solutions that deliver cost efficiency, resilience and accelerate our customers’ journeys to a low carbon future. In Centrica Energy Assets (CEA) within CBS we are building a 1GW portfolio of flexible energy generation assets including solar, battery and hydrogen ready peaking plants to help drive the transition to Net Zero.

In this highly influential role, you’ll deliver and manage all pre and post Final Investment Decision (FID) contract awards by Centrica including managing and nurturing stakeholder relationships. You will ensure procurement and contractual activities are compliant and risks are appropriately managed at all project stages.

Travel Requirements - Travel will be required to project sites, contractors and our UK and international offices on a regular basis. Centrica is committed to providing flexible working

The Role

Ensuring maximum compliance to HSE standards you’ll direct the sourcing of suppliers and deliver successful commercial negotiations for contracts (circa £30-50m value). To achieve this you will work collaboratively with and lead assigned Centrica group procurement services and CEA internal colleagues. You will also need to maintain an understanding of market trends and monitor cost developing a full value approach to transactions. Developing a small team within CEA Projects as we grow the asset business will also be an accountability.

You will nurture relationships with new and existing contracting partners whilst mitigating risks on project delivery. In addition, you need to ensure Centrica procurement compliance is met at FID and lead internal submission assessments for approval. Leading commercial change including contractual variations and managing efficiently will be part of your role. You will also provide strong commercial analysis, innovation and economic modelling on supplier and procurement strategies.

The Person

We are looking for an experienced supply chain or procurement leader with experience in managing large infrastructure / assets in the energy environment.

You are an exceptional communicator with high commercial acumen and an understanding of contractual law.

Knowledge and practical experience of FIDIC AND NEC suites of contract templates is essential. APM / PMP and/or FCIPS advantageous.
