The role
Fugro are seeking an ambitious Structural Engineer looking to take the next step in their career.
Working as part of a small but dynamic multi-disciplined engineering team providing support to the Company’s operational service lines, the role demands a certain amount of autonomy whilst at the same time teamwork and collaboration embody how Fugro conducts our business.
Who we’re looking for:
The Fugro Aberdeen engineering team is responsible for designing a range of equipment in support of our operations. This can range from structural frameworks and grillages, lifting aids, ROV tooling and subsea equipment. The Structural Engineer plays a key role in supporting all projects.
Due to the level of responsibility and technical leadership required for the role, the candidate must have relevant or transferrable experience in areas such as seafastening design, vessel mobilisation support and/or offshore equipment design. Experience in subsea lifting operations and analysis considered desirable.
- Familiarity of industry codes (AISC, DNV, ISO, Eurocodes, etc.), standards and design guidelines.
- Demonstrable knowledge in applying industry codes and standards to the development of structural designs and analysis using STAAD Pro or equivalent software.
- Demonstrable knowledge in carrying out detailed finite element analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks Simulation, Nastran, ANSYS or equivalent software.
- Demonstrable knowledge in carrying out structural connection checks using conventional calculation methods, experience in using Mathcad is preferred.
