We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse in Newquay Community Hospital!

Newquay Community Hospital has a 19 bedded ward where the team aim to deliver the highest standard of patient and rehabilitative care to their patients.

The team are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic, and clinically capable nurse who will be committed to the ongoing development of the ward and multi-disciplinary team working.

They are looking for a forward thinker with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a passion for nursing. The ideal applicant will possess a good level of organisational, communication, discharge planning experience and clinical skills relevant to the post and be able to act as a positive role model.

The Trust is committed to developing people to enable them to provide the best possible care to our patients, so as well as access to various training courses, we also offer the option to apply for relevant external training to support your continual professional development.

The role requires undertaking both day shifts from 07:30 – 20:00 or night duties 19:30 – 08:00 on a rotational basis in order to support 24 hour nursing care, 7 days per week. Full or part time hours will be considered.

The assessment of care needs and the development and implementation of programmes of care in the ward setting

To be a team leader and provide all forms of nursing care without direct supervision.

To provide mentorship to pre and post registration students and Healthcare Assistants undertaking the National Vocational Awards.

Essential criteria
  • RGN 1st Level registration
  • Evidence of team working
Desirable criteria
  • ENB or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification
  • First Degree or Diploma (or working towards)
  • Experience of working within a community hospital and working in care of the elderly ENB 941 an advantage
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
