Our ethos is centred around the principles of harm reduction, we provide non-judgmental, fact-based, information and advice surrounding drug and alcohol use and the associated risks. We aim to give young people and young adults the knowledge and skills to make more informed choices, to keep themselves and their peers aware, safe, and well when it comes to drugs/alcohol.
Following an expansion of the team, The Base Kirklees are excited to advertise the role of Newly Qualified Social Worker.
This exciting newly qualified social worker role will play a key part in developing the support offer and will work flexibly and creatively to establish what’s needed to have the most positive impact for children and young people.
The postholder will hold a caseload of substance misuse and hidden harm cases supporting young people to help address their substance misuse needs and those impacted by familial substance use.
The newly qualified social worker will also undertake the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme, working towards becoming an experienced social worker, identifying their goals for professional development.
We are looking for a creative and dynamic individual who enjoys working within a busy team. The ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and meet deadlines amongst competing priorities is vital in this position.
