As the Facilities and Engineering Site Lead, you'll report directly to the site General Manager and is a key member of the Site Leadership Team.

The position collaborates in partnership with the Site Leadership team and with key partners to transform the Department to enable profitable growth, improve quality and customer experience, and increase employee engagement.
Delivery of these objectives will be achieved through the leadership, coaching and development of the entire team enabling the deployment and introduction of powerful working practices and innovative, value adding project management technologies & tools. These activities will becarried out in accordance with current statutory, regulatory and company safety and quality standards as well as our 4i Values.

Success in this role will be demonstrated through increased customer satisfaction, on time and in full project delivery to hit our growth & profitability targets.

This is a full time, permanent opportunity to be based at our Horsham site

What will you do?

  • Lead Facility and Engineering functions and prepare the site for growth aligned with site targets
  • As member of the Site leadership Team, drive continuous process improvement within the Facility and Engineering teams
  • Develop technology roadmap focusing on Innovative solutions to ensure market leadership continues
  • Develop and lead manufacturing engineer teams supporting both Clinical and Commercial Packaging with a strong focus on accelerating automation driving productivity
  • Support the General Manager into site strategic plans for further business development and strategic investments
  • Manage and control department budget and spending
  • Attract, coach, develop and retain a talented team that delivers business objectives through a culture of customer centricity & continuous improvement
  • Anticipate challenges and risks. Prepare, lead and execute proactive mitigation strategies to ensure optimal results
  • Demonstrate Role Model Leadership in line with the Role Model Leader Competencies
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators for the department and to monitor performance against these taking appropriate actions where these are not achieved
  • Ensure a proper resource level to enhance business readiness and anticipate customer requests
  • Establish goals for each direct report employee in line with career and organizational development plans
  • Work with functional leads to resolve engineering requirements for upcoming projects.
  • Oversee departmental activities to review and/or modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures
  • Develop capital spending in line with strategic goals, proactively driving the execution of the CAPEX plan (through multi-year focus)
  • Continuously monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; assesses and monitors workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; finds opportunities for improvement; directs the implementation of changes
  • Partnership with all Departments & Functions needed to drive effective execution & services
  • Engage with other sites as appropriate to lend and learn standard methodology at ThermoFisher sites
  • Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates Engineering and Facilities Department colleagues; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies. Ensure best in class training and support to ensure the team are equipped to develop and run latest innovative solutions
