Shipping Clerk

Our client, Buybox limited, is one of the fastest growing eCommerce companies which sells a variety of products online on Amazon, eBay, and other eCommerce platforms. They helped their customers and brand owners to experience improved sales and brand recognition. They have sold a variety of products i.e., Rugs, Artificial trees, Clocks, Greenhouses, Kids chair, and so many other products.

A Shipping Clerk implements outgoing shipments of a company’s products and goods. Your primary duties include scheduling and logistics of outgoing shipments, tracking inventory, and maintaining all records and data of the activities. Our client is expanding their operation and actively looking to find an experienced shipping clerk who will be responsible for supervising merchandise that leaves the company’s warehouse and generating purchase orders, invoicing and other shipping documents.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Processes customer orders and forwards requisition documentation to storage and distribution personnel.
• Formulates delivery loads, vehicle schedules and routes to be followed by delivery staff.
• Monitors tachograph readings and maintains records of hours worked and distance travelled by drivers.
• Obtains customs clearance and processes import and export documentation necessary for the movement of goods between countries.
• Maintains records regarding the movement and location of freight, containers, and staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to operate required machinery to move and convey materials and hoist packages.
• Excellent time management, administrative and organisation skills
• Communication and interpersonal skills for troubleshooting shipping issues and customer complaints
• Ability to maintain relationships with freight companies, co-workers, management, and vendors.
• Knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
• Ability to assemble cardboard or wooden containers and crates.
• Strong computer skills and maths skills
• Interpersonal skills

Experience Requirements:

You should have more than a year relevant experience in shipping, organising stockrooms and tracking inventory. If you have some general knowledge of invoices, packing slips, and experience of spreadsheets and databases that will be an advantage.

Salary: £26,200.00 per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

• Glasgow: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
