About the role

We are looking for an experienced senior engineer/designer for our network team, working in a busy environment. You will have Professional or expert level qualification in relevant skill areas (e.g. Cisco CCNP) or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience in designing, implementing and supporting solutions. Working for the fourth largest local authority delivering Digital Services, you will benefit from great terms and conditions of employment whilst working in a fast paced technical environment.

Lancashire County Council operates a large Service Provider network that provides critical network connectivity to around 1,000 local government and education locations, and over 115,000 end-users. We are looking for an engineer to be a technical lead on a range of exciting projects, with expertise needed in areas such as WAN/ISP technologies (Full Fibre, DWDM, Juniper, MPLS, BGP), Data Centre Network technologies (EVPN, VXLAN, Cloud), Enterprise LAN & Wireless (Aruba, Cisco), Network Security (Clearpass, Checkpoint) and Network Monitoring (Zabbix).
