The role
As a Senior Nearshore Geotechnical Engineer based in the UK, you will be responsible for data acquisition and reporting data which enables our clients to make informed decisions during the engineering, design and construction phases of infrastructure development projects, ultimately reducing project risk and costs. Primarily based on site you will supervise and manage site teams, assist with data acquisition, and process and issue field data and reports. Also, you will ensure that commitments to clients are met in terms of budget, schedule, and quality, and maintain close relationships with our clients during the project and beyond.
Senior Engineers are encouraged to attend industry meetings/conferences to ensure continued professional development and effective client exposure.
Who we’re looking for:
Essential
  • Significant previous experience on nearshore and land based site characterisation projects;
  • A degree or similar qualification in Earth Sciences or Geotechnical Engineering;
  • Actively pursuing chartership through an appropriate professional institution or having achieved Chartered Engineer/Geologist status;
  • Strong understanding of nearshore data acquisition, sampling and laboratory testing procedures;
  • Capable of generating a safe and quality-based culture within the team;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to influence the clients technically;
  • A good team player and able to form working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels;
  • Full UK Driving licence.
Desirable
  • Offshore/nearshore (e.g., GWO) certificates;
  • Ability to interpret surface geophysical data and integrate multi-disciplinary datasets.
