Senior Data Modeller

Edinburgh or Glasgow (Hybrid)

MBN are proud to be supporting the UK’s largest Insurance & Investments Group, as they are accelerating their largest Data Modernisation programme to date. They are hiring two Senior Data Modellers to help advance and simplify their Enterprise Data Model, using best practice and innovation to increase data capability company-wide.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about using data properly, particularly within cloud environments. You will need to have an understanding of how legacy systems merge with modern cloud systems, and will design, map, model, and document data across product, customer, and proposition in the Enterprise Data Model.

Azure is their cloud platform of choice, and the infrastructure is being set-up now to migrate & develop data products as efficiently as possible. Over the next two years, the business will move away from the current MI setup into a modern, high performing analytics environment – your role here will be to refine and improve the models used in every area with expert precision. Work on conceptual and logical modelling to map critical data elements into the client’s data model – with a supportive team and wider function around you.

Tech and skills:

• Fantastic data modelling and enterprise architecture understanding
• Experience of planning at enterprise level within a data environment
• Solid understanding of what the wider data function are doing on a day-to-day basis from a hands-on perspective
• Bring a positive aura to the function, energising and motivating those around you (be a role model)
• Strong experience of Cloud and modern data concepts (Kimball, Lakehouse, data mesh etc)
• Strong communication skills, ability to convey architectural advice to various stakeholders
