We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Senior Communications Consultant to join and champion our award-winning SPARKS team (UK based– with occasional travel to London/Sheffield). This is a full time, permanent role.

You will have the ability to develop and execute client strategy and experience of building a successful relationship with all key stakeholders internally and externally.

Reporting to the Lead Communications Consultant, this exciting role has vast opportunity for development, and rewarded with a competitive salary based on experience.


What will you be doing?

  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts, consulting on how to effectively and creatively engage scheme members and communicate pensions and benefits
  • Maximise account growth within a specified revenue target, control revenue, forecasts, and collection of payment
  • Develop innovative ways to deliver effective communication strategies for clients
  • Develop, review, and deliver client growth plans for a portfolio of client accounts, strategically and proactively managing opportunities – thinking bigger than single projects and anticipating client needs
  • review meetings, of project weekly/monthly status meetings (as appropriate), quarterly planning meetings Proactive scheduling
  • Owning annual comms plan for clients
  • Strategic knowledge of clients – what their business objectives are, key issues etc. to display a genuine interest in their business, have meaningful conversations and deliver appropriate solutions
  • Lead clear and effective briefings to the Projects and Creative Teams, working collaboratively to gain the best possible service for the client ensuring that resource is being used effectively
  • Control invoicing for a portfolio of clients, ensuring payments and schedule is agreed with client, all external costs are paid by client, invoicing is timely. For larger projects agree phasing and part billed with finance and the client
  • Ensure revenue protection processes are followed including completion of Change Control Notices (as appropriate)

Your experience will include:

  • A higher qualification (HND or Degree)
  • Relevant experience working in Pensions communications or similar
  • Experience in working in strategic communications agency or on client side.
  • Ability to develop and execute client strategy
  • Sales and pitching, including RFP process, developing sales presentations, and presenting
  • Development of detailed proposals with associated commercials for client approval
  • Successful track record in building relationships with key stakeholders
  • Track record in the monitoring of progress of delivery against (and meeting) revenue forecast
  • Experience in responding to new business opportunities to secure new clients or projects (proposals, presentations, pricing) and support on RfPs at all stages
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic - ability to work to tight deadlines, with minor or no supervision
  • The ability and experience to handle multiple tasks under pressure
