Calibrate Energy Engineering, part of RSK Group supplies intelligent, hands-off commercial heating, chilling and electricity-generating solutions to high energy-use industries. Calibrate's mission is to rethink and reshape how energy is more economically utilised and consumed. Calibrate do this by reducing their client’s operational expenditure, providing an extra income stream, and creating a positive impact on their carbon profile.

We are seeking a Sales Manager to join us in a full time, permanent role. The role of the Sales Manager is to lead the sales team of the business, add organisation and structure to the sales function, help the business and team to hit the sales targets and hold each team member accountable. The combined role of Director and Technical Manager is a complex combination that results in a similarly, complex reporting structure. However, this requirement is dictated by the fact that the co-founder of the company is also still the technical lead and source of most conceptual design, design briefs and concepts of designs. He also provides the technical vision for future direction or research.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the BDM and take responsibility for all internal sales activities
  • Overall responsibility for managing the sales team, to be in charge of all sales activities, order intake, targets, forecasting and profitability
  • Sales team training and support, including coaching and mentoring to bring out the best of the sales team
  • Team accountability and performance review
  • Hit sales targets of revenue and profitability
  • Read and approve all new customer contracts
  • Ensure that the team follows the sales process
  • Sales budgeting and forecasting
  • Manages the use of the CRM and hold the team accountable when using the system
  • Responsible for the sales to Operations hand over process
  • Provide ‘sign off’ on all elements of sales and marketing, including quotes, profit margins, sales process and marketing literature
  • Help the team reduce cost where possible and increase business profitability
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers for large ticket items
  • Lead by example, maintaining the standards and ethos of the Calibrate group, providing inspiration and motivation to the team
  • To comply with responsibilities laid down in the Group’s and Government Health and Safety Policy, GDPR and HSE to ensure a safe working environment
  • Identify new customer sectors, business and funding opportunities

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous commercial experience including contracts negotiation
  • Will need to have a ‘can do’ attitude
  • This is primarily an office based position with some external sales visits and on site sales training and occasional overnight stays
  • Recruitment experience will be needed, for team replacement and expansion
  • To champion strong and effective communication, both internally and externally at all times
  • Run the sales team to ensure that the Calibrate sales process if followed, both in actions and time scale.
  • Work closely with our CRM Pipedrive, Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint to ensure all of the team use the systems for all customer dealings and management
  • Work with the team and assist where needed to ensure that new orders are passed over to the operations team on time, with all of the required information. Ensure that the Calibrate ‘process’ is followed
  • Undertake regular career and professional development and identify opportunities for personal training or improvement, for both self and team
  • To be an ambassador for Calibrate, provide leadership to all team members, champion new ideas and preserve the reputation of the brand
