Process Safety Specialist

Home Based when not travelling to UK wide sites

£51,900 per annum plus bonus

Outsource UK are recruiting on behalf of our multinational Oil and Gas logistics client, who are looking to hire a Process Safety Specialist, to provide HSSE expertise and support to the business to facilitate effective integration of processes, procedures, and policies on matters of HSSE.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide advice on the preparation of risk assessments and method statements.
  • Participate as requested in developing and instigating HSSE audits and inspections. Field Verifications, Terminal Safety Reviews, and site compliance visits.
  • Contribute to COMAH Safety Reports and lead on interventions, as appropriate as well as assisting in compliance with actions from interventions.
  • Provide guidance on Human Factors and Safety Critical Task Assessment in investigations, assessments and continuous improvements in HSSE.
  • Ensure tasks carried out conform to company policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Be individually responsible for bringing to the notice of line management any potential hazard to health, safety or the environment of which you know or learn, in order that the hazard can be eliminated or significantly reduced; and for reporting any incidents relating to work activities.
  • Able to travel independently around the network sometimes at short notice.
  • Ability to act as a Duty Manager for HSSE matters on a rota based system.

Relevant Experience Needed:

  • Previous HSSE experience within a predominantly HSSE role
  • COMAH MATTE knowledge
  • Delivery of routine HSSE management reporting
  • Liaison with the Competent Authority or regulatory interventions
  • Knowledge and Hand-on Experience of Regulation/ACOP/Guidance
  • Knowledge of high hazard industries and COMAH regulations
  • Basic project management experience
  • Knowledge of Human Factors and types of human failure and assessment
  • Experience of incident investigations and techniques
