We are looking for someone who shares a passion for this speciality and an interest in Cardiology. Candidates must be highly motivated and committed to providing the highest standard of nursing care and patient experience, whilst promoting and sustaining high standards of excellence.

You should have an interest in developing your clinical and academic skills within this research active department, enabling you to deliver the highest quality nursing care. There is a requirement to be on the 24/7 PPCI on-call rota ( training will be provided if you do not have experience in the cath lab)

Situated on the Lincoln County Hospital site the Lincolnshire Heart Centre opened in 2013 as a regional Heart Attack Centre (HAC) to provide 24/7 Primary PCI(PPCI) as the management of ST elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) to the population of Lincolnshire. Our state of the art, purpose built HAC has direct ambulance access, 2 fully equipped and integrated Siemens cardiac catheter laboratories and 2 five-bedded recovery areas. It offers a full complement of invasive coronary procedures including left heart catheterisation, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), Rotational Atherectomy (rotablation) and ELCA (laser). In addition to this a comprehensive Brady pacing service and complex device implantation is provided. The centre performs in the region of 400 Primary PCIs (PPCI), 1000 PCI, 1500 Coronary Angiograms and 300 permanent pacemaker implants per year, with figures predicted to rise further in the coming year. Our HAC was used as an example of innovation and best practice for its PPCI pathway in the MINAP annual report – ‘How the NHS manages heart attacks’ (2014).
