About the role

The Recruitment Team sits within HR&OD and is responsible for a breadth of activities that relate to the way the council attracts recruits, develops, and retains its employees with the aim of creating a flexible, highly-skilled, and capable workforce.

With excellent written / language and numerical skills and will be able to communicate effectively at all levels whilst full training will be given for this role, you will need to be quick to adapt and can organise your own time and work to tight deadlines.

Ideally, you will have some past admin experience but if you are proficient in Microsoft office (word, excel, outlook, etc) and have a genuine willingness to learn the rest can be taught.

Staff Benefits

  • We are a friendly and fun team who go out of our way to encourage each other. This role will be working closely alongside two other recruitment assistants doing the same tasks – so support is at hand all the time.

  • Within our team we operate flexitime which means where your workload allows, you can alter your start and finish times according to what hours you have previously worked i.e., if you ended up working over your contracted 37 hours one week, in another week you could finish earlier or start later a couple of days – basically you do not lose hours worked above your contracted hours.

  • There will be plenty of opportunities to take part in development/training opportunities that will further expand your knowledge of working for Wiltshire Council and the Recruitment Team.

  • Plenty of free parking for those office days and desks can be booked in advance, meaning you don't have to rush in.

  • You will receive 26 days (pro-rata) paid holiday, all weekends and bank holidays off and you can from day one take advantage of our staff reward scheme which include many local and national discounts.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 6th April face to face at County Hall, Trowbridge.

  • The contract will end 29 March 2024
