Chelmer Village Surgery is looking to expand our reception/administrative team and is looking to recruit an experienced part time receptionist. you will join us to provide a high standard of patient service and to support our clinical team. The role is offered for 22 hours per week, working pattern to be agreed and confirmed in discussion with the candidate.
Responding to the needs of a diverse population, with the ability to work in pressured situations, the post requires initiative, enthusiasm, and empathy with patients.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Greeting and directing all patients;
- Making appointments and giving out appointment cards, where required;
- Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.;
- Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints;
- Advising patients of practice procedures;
- Registering new patients;
- Answering the telephone, promptly.
We are looking for a receptionist to join our busy practice team and help make a positive impact on our local community. We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals, who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service and have the following attributes:
- You will need to have excellent communication skills and be confident to manage a variety of tasks efficiently.
- You should have a good knowledge of general practice and a working knowledge of SystmOne would be advantageous, but not essential.
- Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
- Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
We are a small practice, serving a patient population of 4800 patients. We use a SystmOne clinical system. Supporting your work life balance and professional development is important to us.
