Job Description

Due to our sustained period of growth, OCU Utility Services now have a new opportunity for an experienced Project Coordinator to join our Commercial team in Wigan. The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the Project and Delivery Managers and provide key information to the Commercial Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide a general administrative function on our Telecommunications installation projects.
  • To complete all daily activities supporting Project Managers in the Telecoms division.
  • Working closely alongside site supervisors, supporting on field engineers to achieve our targets – Safety, Quality and Outputs.
  • Co-ordinate Streetworks Permitting between operational teams and central permitting team. This will include providing Start/Stop registrations; R1 measures and statuses; assisting with checking Permits; reactively liaising with Streetworks team in event there are issues with Permits.
  • Controlling the daily whereabouts of delivery teams (civils and flex) and supervisors and issuing daily whereabouts to clients and colleagues every morning, as required by our clients.
  • Knowledge of PIA and how to administer it.
  • Liaise with all Project Managers on current works being undertaken.
  • Providing daily updates to clients with current status of allocated works.
  • Ensure all required reports are prepared and formatted as per the contract specifications/requirements.
  • Responding in a timely manner to any issues/queries raised by third parties (i.e., clients, local authorities, members of the public).

Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of assisting Streetworks Permitting teams.
  • Ideally, has experience of working on Utilities contracts – e.g. ENWL, UU, SPEN, Virgin Media, BT, etc.
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly with Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Team Player
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to stay motivated and productive.
