Job Description
Role Overview:
OBM are recruiting an experienced Marine Co-Ordinator for our leading Oil & Gas service provider client based in Aberdeen. This is a permanent, full-time position where the successful candidate would be responsible for the offshore marine coordination of the logistics supply vessel fleet and ERRV movements, including co-ordination of any third-party vessels utilised to support customer logistics marine operations.
The role will operate on a rotational basis comprising two-weeks dayshift followed by three weeks leave then two-weeks nightshift followed by three weeks leave.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate all daily offshore marine requirements for the logistics supply vessel fleet, including ERRV movements, associated operational support and any 3rd party vessels.
- Analyse adverse weather conditions to advise vessel masters on the safest course of action.
- Liaise with both offshore installations and supply vessels to update/modify routes, as required, to deal with priority and unscheduled items, including equipment, food/water shortages, etc.
- Ensure the continuous flow of updated information on vessels movements to all relevant parties including installations, cargo operations, logistics, etc. and to optimise the return of high cost rental items.
- Take appropriate remedial action during out of office hours, liaising with duty personnel.
- Monitor and record any deviations / losses / gains to be made if a vessel is requested to proceed at best speed considering weather, tides and availability of workforce on the installation.
- Liaise with all parties regarding the availability of potential free deck space for backload.
- Issue twice daily marine updates, detailing actual and proposed vessel movements.
- Co-ordinate all vessel operations in line with the client's marine operations processes and procedures.
- Ensure handovers comply with the client's ERRV handover procedures.
- Ensure awareness of all ERRV movements and change outs.
- Assist the client's Incident Management Team during callouts and training exercise.
- Update and maintain client systems as operationally required.
Minimum Qualifications / Certifications:
- VHF Radio Operator Certificate.
- Marine Certificate of Competency in a senior bridge role or significant marine control and coordination experience.
- Full, Clean UK Drivers Licence.
Minimum Competencies:
- Working knowledge of offshore MODU / platform & vessel operations, also GOMO, including UKCS supplements.
- Customer focused with a proven track record in a similar role, ideally within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities, on-call and emergency call-outs, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
- Strong leadership, influencing, interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and in writing.
- Solutions based, motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ability to work stand-alone, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while a positive team contributor.
- Highly numeric with a strong attention to detail and excellent planning and organising skills.
- Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite.
