Our client specialises in the manufacture of power distribution boxes for various industries, including entertainment, military, and industrial markets. The company is based in Nelson, Lancashire, UK, and is looking to expand its operations globally. About the role:

This Product Development Manager role is perfect if you enjoy working on multiple varied challenges and tasks across a wide range of areas within the business, taking ownership of these while bringing fresh ideas to the table to move things forward.

You will manage the product development process for both current and new products. The role involves working closely with the internal team based in Nelson and requires European knowledge of acceptable wiring practices and differing design builds worldwide. As a Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects on time, on budget, and to a high-quality standard.


About you:

The ideal candidate for the role should possess the following experience/qualifications:

    A strong background in electronics engineering or engineering, with at least 5+ years of experience in product development roles.
    Experience as a Product Development Manager (or similar role) with a technical focus, preferably having taken a design from concept all the way through to manufacture.
    Product regulatory awareness and experience, with entertainment industry experience being desirable.

Skills/Knowledge:

    Excellent organisational skills.
    The ability to take responsibility for your own roles while contributing to the wider business objectives.
    A detail-oriented approach.
    Good written and verbal communication skills, both internally and to external stakeholders.
    A strong understanding of customer requirements and balancing them with technical requirements.
    The ability to manage expectations and delivery of external design and development stakeholders to deliver products fit for manufacture and meeting market, internal, and customer requirements.
    Experience in the certification of products for market.
