Our client is a leading Groundwork and RC frame contractor in and around London. They have a strong flow of work and a reputation that sets them aside from their competitors. With an annual turnover of over £200m per annum, their primary work area is London, usual package values range from £30 million up to £100 million.
The company are looking to add a Senior Planner / Pre-Construction Manager to the pre-construction team. The opportunity is based in Head Office in North London with visits to the city for client and site meetings.
Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the pre-construction lead, the preconstruction manager would be the manage the planning function of the pre-con and estimating department, and be the interface between the operations teams during the tender and post tender activities
Works to be undertaken, but not limited to, the following:
Managing planning resource;
Act as “third planner” for cost plan programmes;
Develop construction sequences (with Ops Teams) and disseminate information to planners for inclusion within programme;
Select systems and sequences (with Ops Teams) for Earth Works Support / Core Systems / Decking Systems and develop install sequence and durations for programme;
Adjudicate tender programmes before (formal) tender adjudication;
Develop submission document (with planning and Ops teams);
Provide prelims / resources to estimating;
Coordinate external graphics / model detailers for inclusions within submission document and post tender presentations;
Assist in handovers to operations with the pre-construction lead;
Coordinate feedback and lifecycle tracking of outputs with operations
Essential Criteria
Previous experience with a RC Frame contractor
From a Site Engineer / Project Manager background
Have the ability to prepare basic programmes and understand the planning process
Have a track record of successful bid/tender delivery
Have a good understanding of site requirements in respect of preliminaries items
Relevant qualification (HNC/HND)
