What you will be doing...

The Pre-Sales Consultant will drive solution building activities with Ricoh customers to drive our defined portfolio of solutions to market.


Key responsibilities:

  • Designing Datacentre, Networking and Cloud Systems solutions & technical proposals gathered through direct liaison with customers to meet their technical specifications/requirements or project briefs
  • Ability to work with all levels of customer stakeholders (knowledge workers to C-level)
  • Creation of a well-engineered and streamlined Bill of Materials (BoM), prepared and ready for pricing by sales or support teams
  • Ability to reverse-engineer competitor’s brief/ technical proposals, re-design or meet RFI, RFPs or other system functionality to produce performance details and competitive design proposal(s)
  • Production of system schematics, High-Level Designs (HLD) using AutoCAD, Visio etc
  • Provide technical support to the sales/pricing team, such as supporting proposal and RFI, RFP submissions, helping them understand system designs and product functionality or helping to upskill them with general Datacentre knowledge
  • Attend key manufacturer new product/technology training courses as they become available/necessary.
  • Holding required certifications, qualifications and/or passing exams as needed for the business/or our vendors.
  • Attending customer design workshops/consultations
  • Providing Technical clarification where required (internal and externally)
  • Providing estimates for Engineering, Commissioning, Installation, Consultancy etc
  • Investigate new innovative technology and make product recommendations to the business for evaluation
  • Creation and Presentation of Solution Proposals to stakeholders with confidence, explaining technically and logically the reason for the approach

You will ideally have...

Knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Understanding and design of LAN technologies
  • Understanding and design of WAN technologies
  • Understanding and design of Wireless LAN technologies
  • Understanding and design of Network and Perimeter security technologies
  • Understanding and design of Storage Solutions
  • Understanding and design of Compute Solutions including Virtualisation technologies
  • Understanding and design of Backup and Business Continuity Solutions
  • Understanding and design of Cloud and Hybrid Cloud solutions
  • Understanding and design of HCI and dHCI solutions
  • Understanding and experience in navigating the sales cycle within the channel, working with both vendor and distribution
  • Previous experience in a similar consultancy position, undertaking assignments for enterprise customers across a wide variety of datacentre and cloud technologies
  • Excellent communication skills across a variety of mediums at all levels
  • Understanding and experience of integrating solutions and working closely with Managed Services
  • Cultivate an awareness of emerging trends and technologies as required
  • Sound business acumen – commercial awareness
  • Agile and flexible in approach with a keen eye for detail
  • Relevant Industry Certification – Cisco \ Dell \ Lenovo \ HPe \ NetApp \ Nutanix \ Pure Storage \ Azure \ Veeam \ Fortinet
