Job Purpose:
To provide support for two 9-year-old female children, independently of each other. The children have varying degrees of Autism, Hypermobility, a genetic and rare muscular skeletal disease, sensory processing disorder, significant learning difficulties, significant speech and language delays and poor working memories.
Main Duties:
We are looking to recruit one support worker to provide support for the children at their home address to engage in play and support with their communication skills. Some support may also take place in the local community.
Hours:
2 hours per week, for each child, during all term time weeks with a total of 3 hours per week during all school holiday weeks.
Rate of pay:
£11.91 per hour.
Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata.
Any out-of-pocket expenses will be paid by the employer.
Person Specification:
The successful applicant must:
- have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities
- have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs
- have a high degree of initiative
- be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised
- be flexible
- have a happy, positive and caring nature
- respect confidentiality
Car driver is essential and must have business insurance.
The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), cost to be met by employer.
