About us

Aveley, South Ockendon and Purfleet (ASOP) PCN is a patient focused and excelling PCN. We currently looking for a Pharmacist technician to work at our Peartree and West Horndon surgeries which consist of 8,000 patients and the West Horndon site as a dispensing practice. We are constantly looking to improve our practices and take on new staff to help further our goal of great healthcare. The surgeries advised above have 3 Partners, one nurse and one healthcare assistant.

The candidate must have an NVQ 3 qualification and be a registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC. The candidate needs to be able to work as part of the dispensary team at West Horndon and Peartree surgeries, and have good communication skills and confidence with patients.

Responsibilities:

• Verify the accuracy of prescriptions and the credentials of those filling them.
• Be familiar with all state laws regarding pill counts and the storage of dangerous drugs.
• Be able to stock shelves and prepare medications in an organised, confidential manner.
• Communicate with colleagues effectively, including relaying information regarding dangerous drug recalls and safe handling procedures.
• Be aware of possible drug interactions that could harm patients.
• Medicines reconciliation
• Reviewing of hospital letters
• Participation and supporting the DSQS scheme
• Leadership of the dispensing team

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £14.50 per hour
