Parking Enforcement plays a vital role within Wiltshire, reducing congestion and pollution and supporting the economic viability of the County, and we're looking for a Parking Enforcement Officer to join our team in the South (Salisbury).
Parking Services help to manage and reconcile the competing demands for parking from residents, commuters, businesses, shoppers and visitors as well as improve road safety for all sections of the community.
About the role
You will be the first point of contact for the council on the street, responding to enquiries regarding all aspects of council services and guiding visitors to required destinations.
We want to strive to provide an efficient and effective service of parking enforcement, in order to minimise illegal parking acts through the issue of Penalty Charge Notices in appropriate cases.
The role works on an average of 37 hours per week over 4 weeks within a shift rota covering Monday - Sunday working. Bank holiday working will also be required.
About you
You will have a strong background in customer services and be able to deal with enquiries from members of the public politely and effectively and be able to remain calm under pressure.
An eye for detail is key as you will be responsible for ensuring all council pay machines, signs and roadside furniture are kept to a high standard.
You will hold a full UK manual driving licence as the role will involve travelling to different sites on a daily basis.
You will be a lover of the outside as this role involves working outside all year-round and walking long distances. You will be issued with the relevant uniform and safety clothing to ensure you can carry out the job effectively and safely.

The Customer Service Representative will provide high level customer service to internal and external customers with the goal of maintaining meaningful business
Extensive experience with writing business requirement documents. Problem solving skills, both business and technical. Worked with remote development teams.
The successful candidate will be able to work either full-time or part-time. This role is available to start ASAP; the starting pay rate for this job is 38-43
