Early Years Nursery Practitioner (apprentice)
Apprenticeship training to gain Early Years Practitioner qualification. Position is to work with young children 1-3 yrs old
We are a small private daycare nursery located next to Marlborough Road Infant School
Location: Cardiff CF23 5BJ
Hours: 4 days per week 8am-6pm
Rate: Apprentice rate of pay while training - £195 per week
Candidate: We require you to have a warm, caring nature and genuine interest in working with children. You will need to be confident and reliable with a committed attitude to work and gaining a recognised childcare qualification. Suitable candidates will be active, energetic and ready to have fun with the children.
Role: To ensure children are well cared for and have a positive start during their early years. Assisting with play activities such and music and movement, singing, stories, role play, arts and crafts, sensory messy play and walks to the local parklands. Also assistance at mealtimes and care routines. During your training, you will gain experience working with preschoolers, toddlers and babies to understand the different stages of child development.
Qualification: Duration 15 months, this is the most up to date qualification recognised by the care council for Wales to gain Early Years Practitioner status. Level 3 Children's Care, Play, Learning and Development (theory and practice) suitable to work with children under 8 years
Minimum requirements: English and Maths GCSE (original certificates required)
Career progression: Suitable candidates who wish to progress their career working with Early Years children could progress onto Level 4 Advanced Practice and Level 5 Leadership & Management
