Due to the recent expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pre-Operative Assessment Service at NUH. We are looking for dedicated, hardworking, enthusiastic, caring and highly motivated individual to join our team . The team at pre- operative assessment are committed to ensuring you will have a successful learning opportunity which will support future practice across other roles within the trust.
For this role you will either need to be a registered nurse or OPD. We have full time or part time positions available.
We pre-assess around 400 patients a week. This nurse led clinic supported by consultant anaesthetists is a fast developing service. We provide adult pre-operative assessments for patients undergoing operations under general anaesthetic and regional block for a range of surgical specialties.
This position provides a valuable opportunity to develop consultation skills, clinical examination in heart and lungs, and patient management. Skills such as, history taking, phlebotomy, undertaking ECG's, and direct customer care is an advantage and will be required as part of your role.
We offer a centralised service based at 2 different site at Edward Unit, City hospital and B50 at QMC, this role will predominantly be based at QMC.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to join our dynamic team. You will be supported to develop the skills needed to perform this role as a pre-operative assessment nurse.
