A local precision engineering firm with a reputation for excellence is seeking a Metrology Engineer to conduct metrology and mechanical inspections in support of its parts manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities
Conduct metrology & mechanical inspection activities in support of the parts manufacturing operation.
Conduct "first-off" checks, in-process checking and final inspections.
Conduct "First off Article Inspections" & preparation of formal reports to customers.
Manage customer queries and non-conformance issues, establishing root cause & corrective actions.
Represent the business at customer meetings with regard to product quality.
Manual assembly tasks on occasion to support manufacturing.
Assist with the maintenance and development of the AS9100 system.
Requirements
Ability to read & understand technical drawings, including dimensional & geometric tolerancing.
Confident with use of manual measuring equipment.
Ability to use a Co-ordinate Measuring Machine.
Understanding of calibration and quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
Data driven.
UK Driving Licence and own vehicle.
