As we continue to grow, we are now looking for a Manager for the ASU TN Product Development Team. This role will be accountable for product development, improvement and new technology implementation for Tonnage Nitrogen (TN) and Liquefier products within the Mid Cryo portfolio.

The TN product line continues to deliver significant order intake with legacy and new products designed to adapt to the changing demands of the Electronics industry. Typical project values range from $20 - $450MM. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated candidate to build on the existing success of this key Product Line.

The incumbent will be successful by keeping focus on market trends, setting the future strategy, managing the product budget to deliver standard product offerings and maintaining product competitiveness by driving standardization.

The product manager will also be responsible for driving increased order intake by developing successful global bid strategies and delivering clear and executable product offerings to the ASU Project and Proposal Teams, Global Project Execution & Global Engineering Organizations.

The incumbent will be instrumental in success of project execution by ensuring successful handover of product deliverables to execution teams, incorporating stakeholder feedback (Procurement, Technology, Global Operations and IG Business), and acting as a consultant to support regional best practise.

As the Manager – ASU TN Product Development, you will:
  • Develop and sustain competitive TN products to ensure the growth of Air Products businesses whilst consistently delivering on development of product and project commitments in terms of labor-hours, cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
  • Manage the budgets for product development activities (~$1 million). Maintain competitiveness data for product offerings.
  • Partner with the ASU Commercial Management Team to ensure the right product targets are set, and competitive feedback is implemented into product plans.
  • Partner with the ASU Proposal Team to deliver competitive bids, minimizing the time and effort to bid.
  • Partner with the Process Technology Team to ensure the most competitive technologies are incorporated into the product offerings.
  • Develop and maintain vital tools and systems to ensure functional excellence and global commonality and consistency including but not limited to Opentext, Ecosys and the Product Portal.
  • Develop and maintain work process discipline and reporting to ensure robust change control in projects. A critical success factor will be to improve the reuse of key components of the developed product offerings and implement a feasible product strategy to handle project-specific changes and ETO components.
  • Supervise Product Engineers supporting TN Product.
Your profile:
  • Candidates will be expected to have significant experience in an Engineering or Technology teamwork environment; experience in a product related function would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working with cryogenic plant product engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple functions globally.
  • Varied functional experience is beneficial, either as individual contributor or manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Additional education may be beneficial (i.e., MBA).
  • Continuous Improvement qualifications or evidence of improvement focussed approach.
This is a Global role based in Hersham, however alternative locations will be equally considered if the applicant can support the requirements of the role with flexible working and travel.
