Job Description

Our client, based in Portslade, is looking for an IT Support Apprentice to join their team. The successful candidate will train via apprenticeship into IT Support for a growing company. Covering all areas of IT, they will quickly gain experience on a wide breadth of IT problems.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Group Digital Manager you will work as an apprentice IT Support technician whilst undertaking ongoing training on technology solutions potentially to degree standards
• Learn service desk process & best practice to deliver a consistently high level & accountable client experience
• Gain knowledge of managed print hardware & software solutions with regards to installation, troubleshooting & support being able to assist and escalate to software vendors as necessary ensuring any fault or issue is resolved in timely fashion
• Attend all technical training courses keeping to a set study roadmap plus keep product & process knowledge regularly updated
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the post as directed by line management
• Oversee Office 365 and Team admin portals, learning to implement numerous business requirements as they frequently change
• Update IT Asset lists, keeping track and maintaining the hardware used throughout the business

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
• Excellent communication skills, particularly able handle client support calls professionally
• Ability to process and interpret complex information
• Strong prioritisation skills and ability to manage own workload
• Ability to work flexibly
• Team player
• Self-motivated
• Ability to make decisions and use own initiative
• Ability to work within a team
• Creative, comes up with ideas
• Prepared to learn new skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher

Desired Skills

• Further education engineering/IT qualifications
• Microsoft associate qualifications
• Experience of working in a similar role
• Experience in an IT environment
• Knowledge of the relevant industry
• Knowledge of technical support process
• Experience using supplier portals & CRM systems
• Full driving license
