Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster
Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver “better trained sailors to the front line faster”.
As an instructor you will act as part of the Phase three Targeted Employment Module (TEM) Delivery Instructional Team. The main role - delivering theoretical & Practical lessons in a classroom environment or in Hangar sites around the Air Station. Courses include Aircraft Surveying Techniques, NMATT Tractor and various Airfield Support Equipment maintenance and role changes, Safe Overhead Gantry Use, Tool Control processes and procedures and any other courses required to fulfil the Training requirements of the Authority.

Job Description:
What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting Theoretical and Practical face to face training delivery to students through various Phase three aviation courses embedded on the school training plan.
- Ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of all personnel under training, at all times in accordance with Yeovilton and Defence Team Fishers SHE Policy’s
- Ensuring that the equipment and materials in all areas are fit for purpose, have been maintained, cleaned and in date for safe operation
- Ensuring all delivered instructional material used to deliver your allocated courses is maintained at the correct amendment and policy issue state prior to delivery.
- Ensure all training equipment and classrooms are correctly prepared prior to use.
- Completing and maintaining any accurate records required by local or higher policy
- Liaising with external agencies, as and when necessary, for any rectification/maintenance requirements
What we’re looking for:
- Experience within the Aviation Engineering Industry
- A working knowledge of the Military Aviation Environment and it’s key policies
- Experience of training in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
- Excellent communication – both written and spoken
- Must be able to gain UK SC clearance
About Project Selborne
Project Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.
