We have a great oppotunity for a Information Rights and Privacy Officer within our award winning team at Royal Mail. As a Privacy Officer you will be involved in gathering information for information rights casework, which enables RMG to comply with its obligations under data protection and privacy laws. This includes data subject access and other rights requests, internal enquiries and ICO complaints, data breach reporting and enquiries relating to personal information.
This is a Hybrid working role with one day per week working out of our Sheffield HR Service building.
About the role
You will be responsible for records and information governance activity. Key to this role is the ability to gather and review information relevant to casework in line with the legislation, ensure appropriate reporting and escalation of data protection incidents, maintain accurate records and provide advice and support to other functions in relation to data protection and privacy legislation.
Be responsible for gathering and reviewing information from across RMG in response to subject access requests and in relation to other information rights requests within the necessary timescales for RMG to comply with its statutory obligations.
You will investigate enquiries and complaints relating to RMG’s processing of personal information and provide advice and support to other functions and colleagues dealing with data protection and information governance issues, promoting compliance with RMG strategy, framework, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable law.
