Job title: Head of Capital Investments

Location: Glascoed (South Wales), Washington (Tyne & Wear) or Crewe (Cheshire) – This is a multi-site role that will require regular travel from a home site. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Competitive - Dependent on experience and qualifications

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and develop the implementation of the required capital investments in support of the Land UK strategy and munitions contracts.
• Focus of the role will be on the re-capitalisation of the Land UK sites and major projects emerging for UK resilience, Technology acceleration projects and product developments that may require a level of capitalisation.
• Identify scenarios, develop requirements and agree strategy for any future facilities in support of potential growth and emerging requirements for UK resilience.
• Work in partnership with the Technology Teams, Site Teams and different Functional areas to ensure that the schedule of activities and cost profile are optimised to support project control totals.
• Identify and develop future technological improvements in capital that will result in Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery improvements.
• Project Budgets and schedules delivered as planned and project LCM (Life Cycle Management) assessments passed
• Monthly Contract Status reviews (CSR’s), Team Performance metrics / targets achieved

Your skills and experiences:

• Qualified to degree level, preferably in Project Management, Business Management or a technical related subject
• Management experience at a senior level with experience in working with cross functional teams at a senior level
• Ability to develop sound strategic investment projects and align with strategies within the business
• A demonstrable track record of delivering significant high value projects
• Good financial acumen to ensure projects are delivered to the agreed budgets
• Strong understanding of the product & production processes.

The Capital Investment team:

The role will focus on corralling all the major capital and development programmes together and putting in place a suitable programme, governance and reporting structure for the planned projects. A team will be built around the demands from the capital projects and organised in the most efficient manor to deliver the most successful outcomes.
