RSK Geoscience has exciting opportunities for an experienced Near Surface Geophysicist to provide geophysical surveying services to support our clients in the property, civil engineering, oil and gas, nuclear, renewable energy, water and transport sectors.

RSK is looking to welcome a near surface geophysicist with 2-3 years’ experience in our Hemel Hempstead office to join our award winning and well-respected geophysical survey team.

Responsibilities:

• Work within our experienced team under the guidance of the Principal Geophysicist and Team Leader
• Preparation for and undertaking site work using a variety of geophysical techniques, data processing, interpretation, and report production.
• Mentor and/or line manage junior members of the team
• Manage ongoing projects and liaise with clients as required
• Preparing proposals

Qualifications/Experience:

• Near Surface Geophysicist (2-3 years’ experience)
• Competent in use of GPR, ERT, Seismic Refraction, MASW, Microgravity, Magnetics and Electromagnetic instrumentation.
• Experienced in processing data for the above techniques.
• Competent user of High Precision GPS, Total Stations.
• Competent user of 2D AutoCAD
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong IT skills including Excel, CAD and some programming would be an advantage
• Must hold a UK driving license
• Must be prepared to travel and stay away from home when required
