Working in the Accounting and Control function you will be a key member of the Finance team with accountability for the controls and processes underpinning day to day Accounts Payable processes operated by our 3rd party provider. This role will offer the chance to gain an in depth understanding of the groups finance operation and opportunity to improve how those finance processes are delivered, working closely with various internal stakeholders across Accounting & Control, Treasury, Commercial and Technology.

As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• 
  Primary relationship holder with Accounts Payable and Expenses claim team operated by Outsource partner
• Work with outsource partner and internal teams to identify process, control and reporting improvements
• Act as subject matter expert relating to Accounts Payable and expenses claim processes. Provide input and support on project work for example supplier funding,
• Responsible for sign-off of any changes to the Accounts Payable processes operated by the Outsource Partner whether initiated by Currys or Outsource Partner
• Maintain delivery oversight and relationship with external suppliers who provide support to the processes
• Together with the outsource partner, design KPIs, targets and regularly monitor performance provided by Outsource Partner
• Act as point of escalation and contact with relevant Stakeholders relating to upstream and downstream processes such as procurement, treasury, accounting
• Work with outsource partner to design reporting to enable performance, trend and root cause analysis
• Responsible for the submission/oversight Payment practices reporting to HMRC
• Assist the Group controller and Head of Treasury with the delivery of cash management activities as required

Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience required:

• 
  Understanding of shared service operations
• Experience of operating within a finance team, preferably at a large complex organisation
• Highly organised and structured, ability to forward plan to ensure personal and team deadlines are achieved
• An ability to influence senior business partners to challenge business performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to tell a complex story in a compelling manner via all means of communication
• An ability to apply process knowledge and explain clearly to others
• Strong problem solving skill – an ability to analyse and understand complex data and situations to recommend the optimal solution
