Job Description

Our client, a market leading business based from home as this role is fully remote but would require travel to different care homes across the country on an ad hoc basis. Reporting into the Finance Director, they will provide financial support and guidance to departmental heads across the business. This role would suit someone who is a recently qualified accountant and is looking to develop their business partnering and analytical skills. Ideally this person would have experience within social care housing or a similar industry. Working closely with the Care Home Operational Managers to develop strategies to maximise profitability whilst exploring income and cost opportunities and supporting capital investment decisions in line with company objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who would be looking for something on a temp to permanent basis. This Business Partner could be responsible for the North regions (to cover Scotland, Northern Ireland or North East/West)

Key Responsibilities include:


  • Prepare monthly financial and management reports and produce Revenue and Capital monthly management accounts, quarterly rolling forecasts and ensure variances are investigated
  • Provide support and guidance to the care home operations managers in the monthly monitoring of income, revenue costs and capital expenditure against budget and forecasts
  • Preparation of comprehensive and clear monthly and quarterly management accounts commentary to be submitted for board meetings
  • Focus on increasing profitability and continuous improvement by analysing and challenging current practices and processes
  • Maintenance of the Fixed Assets register by ensuring all completed projects are transferred and accounted for
  • Support business unit managers through the provision of financial input to strategic planning
  • Assessing capital investment projects for capital expenditure and help evaluate new contracts where required

  • Highly numeric with strong analytical and problem solving skills to interpret complex data
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to conflicting tight deadlines
  • Can effectively communicate financial information at all levels
  • Capable of challenging and developing existing relationships
  • Excellent excel skills
