The project Information Officer will contribute to the smooth and efficient delivery of a range of activities for the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP).

This post is a co-ordination and support role for the Business & Local Partnerships Team focusing on project development, delivery and business engagement activities across the team.

Provide effective project management and delivery support to a number of Team projects, including the £4m portfolio of Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP)* projects including:

  • Supporting Project Managers on existing projects, including back-up support for critical processes
  • Financial management of 30+ projects and reporting to partners.
  • Submitting claims monthly to tight deadlines to obtain grant funding payments.
  • Reporting and management of stakeholder meetings including occasional external site visits
  • Credit control of outstanding invoices to reduce debt.
  • Understanding and applying in practice sponsor rules to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Delivery of claims and progress reports to Sponsors.
  • Maintaining and using relevant Team databases.
  • Liaison with other stakeholders to ensure projects progress to plan (HR, academic departments, external sponsors, business partners)
  • Liaising with Innovate & Company partners to obtain project extensions, pausing projects and helping partners with cash flow issues due to Covid, which would have resulted in projects finishing early with a loss of grant income.
  • Liaising with the Finance department to ensure Invoices are raised in a timely manner.

Providing effective administrative and co-ordination support to the KTP team. This includes;

  • Management and co-ordination of diary commitments and stakeholder engagement meetings (internal and external).
  • Supporting the production of Team reports and marketing materials (e.g. website, PowerPoint)
  • Co-ordination and pro-active management of delivery against ad hoc assignments for the Head of Team.
  • Support for the development of new projects and assignments.
  • Co-ordinating a regular programme of Team meetings and wider internal networking.
