Finance Manager / Financial Controller (No 1 role - report to MD)

NW London - £60,000 negotiable + bens

Our client is a highly successful and long-established family-run trading business, seeking an experienced Financial Controller to replace the existing Financial Controller who is retiring.

Reporting to the MD, the Financial Controller / Finance Manager will oversee one bookkeeper and take responsibility for the finance function, including:

• Production of management and statutory accounts for the business.
• Cash flow management and production of budgets
• Management of loans, deposits, FX transactions and hedging.
• Profit analysis of traders and contracts, long/short/forward stock positions
• Supporting management with strategic long-term financial business plans
• Financial reviews and assessing cost reduction opportunities.
• Working capital management - debtors, creditors and stock
• Liaise with banks on sources of finance and credit facilities.
• Constant review and development of finance systems and controls
• Analysis and reporting of business performance.
• Reviewing contracts and authorising shipping instructions.
• Management of credit insurance for new and existing customers.
• Producing traders' commission and overseeing VAT returns.
• Developing external relationships with auditors, bankers, etc.
• Monitoring changes in financial regulation and legislation.
• Overviewing and developing the bookkeeper (Xero)
• Right hand person to the MD for finance and strategic issues.

This Financial Controller / Finance Manager role will require an experienced hands-on and commercial Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA), seeking a local stable long-term role. Qualified by Experience may be considered.

Strong IT skills are essential, especially Excel, with the ability to develop and upgrade integrated systems as needed. Experience in high value low volume trading would be useful but is not essential
