Full Time Employment (Permanent Contract) on an all year round basis (our nursery closes for 2 weeks over the December/January period in line with the Norfolk County Council School Calendar).
Rate of pay is negotiable.
We currently have a position available for the right candidate to join us and train as an Early Years Teacher who has a passion and commitment in supporting children aged 6 months - 4 years.
To undertake the training, you must hold a Degree Level 6 and have a high level of enthusiasm towards supporting the Early Years sector. The training to become an Early Years Teacher is for one year via our approved EYITT Training Provider and following completion of this you will hold an Early Years Teacher qualification. The course is completed over the course of a year at approximately one day per month and would begin from September 2023. On top of this, various additional training days, placements and study time are carried out to support with the qualification which are allocated throughout your working week.

The Successful Candidate:
The successful Candidate will have enthusiasm and a strong knowledge of the EYFS with the expectation to take on key person responsibilities and take on an active role in the planning and implementation of activities.
As a trainee Early Years Teacher you will be involved in the structuring of the nursery room, supporting curriculum development and taking a lead role in supporting the educational learning for the children we work for:
- Supporting the children with the ability to access the whole curriculum around them through a holistic learning approach.
- Providing a strong enabling environment allowing child led and child focused play at the forefront of what we do.
- Ensuring every child is entitled to be heard.
- Value and promote our philosophies with children as the core focus.

The applicant must hold a relevant Level 6 degree or equivalent.
As a trainee Early Years Teacher, you will be expected to:
- Attend and complete Introduction to Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene Level 2 Qualifications as a minimum.
- Attend and complete all aspects of the Early Years Teacher training programme.
- To complete and uphold your DBS on the update service.
- Attend all nursery meetings and training days.
- Have enthusiasm and commitment to learn for the children you will work for.
- Contribute to the nurseries ethos.
- To provide and support the team with a broad range of stimulating experiences for the children that support development in personal, social, spiritual and cultural understanding language literacy and communication mathematics, knowledge and understanding of the world, creative and physical abilities.

- To demonstrate adaptability, flexibility and sensitivity with regards to the needs of the children staff and parents within the nursery.
- To undertake courses as they arise to benefit your professional development within the workplace.
- To be involved in the lead in planning and arrange activities within the Nursery.
- To assist in the upkeep of cleanliness and safety of the nursery providing a safe environment for the children parents and staff to work within.
- To support in taking the lead in recording and observing the children through assessments on a regular basis – demonstrating the level of development each individual child is at within the EYFS.
- To attend any activity or meeting relevant to maintaining the appropriate level of education and care within the Nursery.
- To be happy, constructive and positive, approaching the job with enthusiasm at all times.
- Organise and keep on top of all paperwork appropriate within your job description.
- You are employed as an Early Years Teacher but it is expected that if necessary you will be willing to undertake other work of which you are capable and for which you have trained for within the nursery to support the families we work with.
- To demonstrate initiative with routine and non-routine tasks as they arise.
- To demonstrate and understand the need for confidentiality and professional conduct.
