Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term band 3 digital support assistant to join our established Cardiac Surgery service. The team is a multidisciplinary team, based at UHS that serves the needs of heart failure patients in the acute and community settings. This is a new job role which is being piloted to support the adoption and roll out of My Medical Record (MyMR) within the service. The role is mix of admin skills and development of the MyMR pathway. It will require excellent communication skills.

MyMR is an established patient supported self-management digital tool which has been developed as an educational resource in collaboration with the British Heart Foundation and local patient engagement.

The team are looking for an experienced administrative assistant, with a high level of communication and a good knowledge of IT skills to assist with patient registration, education, and the adoption of MyMR within the service. This will involve working with patients and the multidisciplinary team in both the acute and community setting. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career.

Your Responsibilities

What you’ll do

  • Support the registration and use of My Medical Record for patients, working with the clinical team to identify these patients
  • Gain a detailed understanding of the My Medical Record product to support training of both staff and patients
  • Support and co-ordinate patients on virtual pathways
What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone with a flexible approach and with the ability to manage a demanding workload with changing priorities. You will need to be able to work independently as well as working with the team. You must be digitally literate to be able to support patients using the digital tools that form part of their care.

We’re also looking for:
  • An understanding of an acute hospital environment
  • Digitally literate with experience of using Windows based applications, such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
