Delivery Driver

Location: Edinburgh

Hours: 45 hours per week - 08:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday

Pay rate: £12.90 per hour. Overtime available with an enhanced pay rate of £19.35 per hour after 45 hours.

Due to increased demand, DHL has an opportunity for you to join their team as a temporary delivery driver to assist with current business pressure. The opportunity to become a permanent employee at DHL will be offered to candidates successful in this role.

Delivery Driver Responsibilities

• Complete daily safety checks, safe loading / securing load of vehicle, maintenance, legislative / regulations and adherence to company driving standards (including tachograph vehicles).
• Scanning and working quickly and efficiently to ensure warehouse deadlines are met.
• Ability to make good decisions and work under pressure
• Complete multiple deliveries and collections of shipments of a variety of shapes, sizes and weights
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail
• Ensure correct completion of DHL / Customer data and documentation
• Sort and prioritise workload (including multiple route sort) to ensure time commitments are met
• Ensure customer needs are met through time efficient deliveries and collections
• Have a professional interest for Safety and Security of yourself, colleagues, customers and the general public

Delivery Driver Requirements

• A full and valid UK Cat B Driving licence
• Strong geographical knowledge and route planning skills
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Have a strong work ethic, be flexible and happy to work hard on their own initiative.
• Experience of driving a 3.5t van is preferred but not essential.
• Have good people skills that are helpful and friendly
• Previous multi-drop experience is required
• You must be able to provide various proof for identity checks
