Consumer PR Manager (FTC 12 months to cover for maternity)
We are seeking an experienced Consumer PR Manager to join our busy UK& I Corporate Affairs and PR team. This exciting and varied role is responsible for developing and executing external PR campaigns in the UK&I that help drive brand love, aligned to seasonal activity, including new product and menu launches – uplifting customers and external stakeholders, making Costa Coffee the most loved coffee brand.

A bit about the role...
Reporting into the Head of Corporate Affairs and PR, you will play a critical role in planning and delivering external PR campaigns and being responsible for overseeing a busy Press Office. Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to)
- Develop and execute external PR campaigns, that drive brand love and increase footfall and sales
- Lead the day-to-day management of a PR agency to deliver briefs, set objectives and KPIs, execute campaigns and deliver post campaign reports
- Support the work of the Press Officer, including inbound media enquiries and the Press Officers responsibility of delivering monthly/ quarterly PR reports
- Support the Head of Corporate Affairs and PR to manage the team’s budget and spend per external PR campaign
- Represent PR on weekly/ monthly Marketing calls to ensure PR objectives and activities are aligned to the wider business objectives per each campaign
- Support other departments across the business with media enquiries/ opportunities
- Meet with journalists to keep them up to date of Costa Coffee’s work/ commitments and build positive relationships

- Proven experience and a track record of working in a Consumer PR environment (client or agency side considered)
- Passion and understanding of what makes a good PR campaign/ story
- Agency management experience
- Exceptional creative writing ability
- Exposure to crisis/ issues management
- Excellent communication/ presentation skills
- An understanding of building multi-channel campaigns and events beyond traditional media
- Proven ability to prioritise and respond quickly and accurately to tight deadlines
- Retail / Hospitality/ FMCG background or experience preferred

Location: Remote working with regular travel to Central London office required.
