Brief role summary:
An exciting new role within the Academic segment, which will allow the team member to develop and secure sales generated by newly published public tenders! It would include the analysis of the request, the coordination of the product selection and the pricing proposal. You will collaborate closely with our tender specialists team and the appropriate account manager to align with our company sales policy. This is a brand-new role for the segment, so we are looking for someone engaging to help define the future of tender management here at Fisher Scientific!
Responsibilities:
Ensure the achievement of sale targets by identifying and developing sales opportunities out of tenders with the market segment.
Work to drive Academic specific product sales, to support supplier partnerships and actively promote core products and relevant helpful add-on services for our customers.
Building and maintain a rounded proficiency of the sales positioning of Thermo Fisher Scientific and its products you will be able to use your knowledge to successfully demonstrate the strengths and breadth of the organization and effectively navigate the matrix of colleagues available to support you here at Fisher Scientific.
Build strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and adequate margins to win business.
Learn the tools for analysis. Utilise them to drive success rates in all areas; brand, product and price. Implement account strategies as determined by you and your Manager.
Analyze tender content collected by the tender specialists to qualify the leads and participate to the Go/No Go decision in order to maximize win rate and revenue income. Optimize price offering with support from local account managers and regional sales managers in compliance with the company sales strategy and market dynamics
Ensure coordination of relevant functions to ensure appropriate product selection (technical application specialist, X-Ref tool/team and coding)
Work closely with the local tender team by providing all technical and commercial elements to allow on time completion of the tender submission
Maintain a high level of business knowledge relevant to the region including competitor activity.
Develop and maintain detailed customer/opportunity records in SalesForce.com
Provide feedback using verbal and written reporting tools to the business on customers, competitor activity, promotions etc, to agreed timescales and in agreed format as informed by your Manager.
Keeping a library of the technical documents used in tenders for their future reuse as needed.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences or equivalent work experience.
Excellent organization and excel skills.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
Previous sales experience is considered desirable.
Availability to travel overseas occasionally to attend meetings and training sessions.
Work is home-office based
Good understanding of the UK/IRE market.
